I have been working with clay for over 25 years. Most recently I have concentrated on the sea and particularly that space just beneath the surface of the water that most interacts with light and weather conditions. This mesmeric capacious wonderland that lies below the surface of the sea greets you as a dreamy jade green place where worldly sounds are suspended and where time is forgotten.
The persistent traditional and ancient vessel form with its embedded knowledge of skills and ideas is used in my work extending this medium’s unique possibility of combining form and surface.
